How We Charge
for Shipping: Our Policy
Shipping cost is determined by the size and weight of a package,
where it is going and what method of shipping is used.
Special charges for oversize packages are especially difficult
to predict. It is very difficult to have an accurate
method for calculating shipping charges fairly. We use a
scale based upon cost to arrive at an estimated shipping charge.
This often results in a reasonable charge, but not always.
In cases in which we are overpaid, we refund any overpayment in
excess of $2.00. In cases in which we are underpaid by
more than $2.00, we will bill you for the extra cost.
We tested a large number of paddles,
especially foam core composites and wooden paddles, to find out
what worked best for bracing and rolling, as well as for good
overall performance. The wooden Grey Owl Spindrift and
wooden blade/graphite shaft Zephyr were what we liked best.
These are light, enter the water cleanly, and are astonishingly easy
to scull and roll with.
We enjoy the warmth in the hand, the
beauty, and the springy feel of the shaft of the Spindrift. We
have Spindrifts in stock in 210
centimeter length only. The Spindrift has been recently
replaced in the Grey Owl line by the carbon fiber shaft/wooden
blade Zephyr, which we stock in 220 and 230 cm lengths.
The Zephyr is a remarkable paddle: It weighs 24 oz--like
the lightest graphite paddles, sculls like wood, and costs like
fiberglass. Who wouldn't want that? (Longer shafts,
and adjustable index ferrules can be specially ordered.)
Your satisfaction is guaranteed! We will accept a returned
paddle for a
full refund as long as it is in new condition. You must pay the shipping both ways.
This bag utilizes the wasted space
beneath the foredeck for accessible storage. It hangs suspended
from two webbing tracks secured by four screws. When two Fastex
buckles are released the bag can be slid along its tracks like a
drawer into the lap of the paddler. This is our favorite
accessory
If you feel that your kayak is lacking in pizzazz, or you need
to one-up your buddies in the kayak armaments race, check out
the latest offering from Q Branch. This backband features
easy-to-use ratcheting buckles which permit on the water
position adjustments. What if you're getting too much pinch at
the sides? No problem: Just pull a strap and force the lumbar
support forward. Do you need access to the space behind the seat
for cargo stowage? With ordinary seatbacks and backbands access
is restricted. With this well made and superbly styled back
support there is no problem: Everything comes out and reinstalls
in seconds. If you like your martinis shaken, not stirred, this
is the backband for you!
This version is for people who
prefer more support.
Snapdragon Backband
This is a particularly fine backband. It is beautifully
made, deeply padded, has a stiffener to keep it from curving too
much, and has a couple of straps attached to the back to
make it possible to secure a jacket or paddle float behind the
backband. the BB-2 is similar in size to most other
backbands on the market.
These plugs stay where they are put better than any others we've
tried. A high strength wire connects the two low density
pads. A stout cord prevents loss.

This high quality
cross-linked foam is the basic material from which we create
seats, hip, and knee braces. It carves, saws, and sands
beautifully, and lasts well. Doing a nice job fitting a cockpit
takes a lot of labor. It is worthwhile to use the best material in
order to get the best and most durable result for your labor.
Comes in 12 or 24" widths by 3" thickness. Maximum
length is 48". If the combined girth and length of the package
exceeds 84" UPS charges as if the package weighs 30
lbs. We will cut your order into smaller pieces to avoid an unnecessary
shipping expense unless you email us to request a larger piece.

This material cuts
easily with scissors and is applied like a decal. It is composed
of a tough surfacing foam over a compliant base. People use this
for creating a protective non skid pad where the spare paddle is
carried, for applying a comfortable surface to a hard seat, or
for padding the underside of the deck where the knees come in
contact with the deck. Please email us if you need specific
dimensions, otherwise we will cut the material at our discretion to make up
the correct number of square feet.
This
material cuts easily with scissors and is applied like a decal.
1/16" foam is useful where a tough, non-skid surface is
needed, but little change in dimension is wanted. We use
this material to reinforce hip braces or anywhere it's thin
toughness is appropriate. It does not follow deep compound
curves well. Please email us if you need specific dimensions,
otherwise we will cut the material at our discretion to make up the correct
number of square feet.
We use this long-wearing, black, non-skid
synthetic fabric for upholstering and reinforcing seats, hip,
and knee braces. It is applied to foam by means of 3M 8088 Spray Adhesive.
Please email us if you need specific dimensions, otherwise we

We use this for attaching Upholstery
Fabric to foam. It can also be used for attaching foam to the
boat. NOTE: Because of shipping restrictions, this product
is no longer available for purchase, except locally. Try
your hardware store.
The kit includes one piece of Dragonskin ,
the Stanley Sureform Shaver and the Modified Stanley Blade. The only other
tools that you need to measure, layout, and carve foam are household items that
you probably have on hand.
This is the tool of choice for
adjusting and finishing seats and braces made of gray minicell foam.
The
Sureform is the most
important tool for carving foam. If you only use the tool
to carve foam the edge will stay sharp indefinitely.
We modify spare blades for the Sureform so that they can be used
without the handle to hollow out concavities. The modified
blade is one of the fundamental tools for carving foam.
You can special order an unmodified spare blade for $3.95 if you need a spare to use with your handle.
